Our stay in Nancy's 2-bdrm place was more than satisfactory. The place has so much space, is cozy, nicely decorated, and it has pretty much everything we needed and more: a well equipped kitchen, linens, 3 dining tables, living room areas with lots of great books and games, a comfy entertainment area with a great dvd collection, outdoor seating spaces with a barbecue grill, a laundry room, soft tub and sauna! This place is better than any hotel. It is really quiet at night and the stars look amazing. The owner, Nancy, is friendly and accommodating and we found she had many things in common with us! We used the place for a family gathering and it was perfect. Spacious and broken up into different seating/conversation areas outside and inside, and the visiting adults and kids loved checking out the chickens. Although it is a farm, with gravel driveways and has some work in progress areas, the place has a pleasing appearance and the inside of every unit Nancy rents (she encouraged us to visit them) is very carefully and beautifully set and well maintained. Also, we got our security deposit back only a few days after the last day we stayed there! We will definitely rent a unit at Nancy's again when we go back to northern California. Thank you Nancy!

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful. The cottages are all beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. The kitchen was fully furnished (coffee maker and good coffee, toaster, etc) and there were even fresh eggs and fruit in the fridge for us when we arrived! The area itself is lovely, and we greatly enjoyed relaxing in the garden, both during the day when we could see the valley and at night, with all the beautiful lights Nancy has strung up. Nancy, the owner, was welcoming, funny and amazingly helpful. We were in the area looking for a rental house and she was able to give us invaluable information on the different neighborhoods and areas we were looking at. One of my favorite parts of our stay was our conversations with her. We will recommend Nancy's permaculture farm to all our friends and family and hope to stay there again!

Nancy was an outstanding host, and the studio was so perfect for our stay. Having the garden was such an incredible bonus! Fresh veggies, fresh eggs, oh my! We will definitely be going back. Nancy also recommended a great restaurant in town (Boca) where the we enjoyed fabulous steak, wine and dessert. Can't wait to visit again!

I rented this cottage for my 80-year old parents who came from the Netherlands for three weeks because it was close enough to where I live that they could walk over for breakfast. Instead, I spent more time with them at the farm because they enjoyed so much the natural setting and the sunny gardens. The vegetable garden was full of things to pick and eat, and of course the fresh eggs! My parents are great hikers and nature lovers, so they could sit for hours overlooking the orchard commenting on the birds and butterflies. It was the perfect stay for them, for us so much better than trying to crowd them on a futon in the living room of my small apartment. Also, it was so close to great hikes in West Marin and Sonoma. Most of all, knowing they were safe and comfortable (and that someone was looking after them a bit) made me more relaxed to truly enjoy their long visit.

Hi - Nancy is a wonderful Host and we really enjoyed her farm. We ended up arriving very late both times we stayed there but Nancy had provided some fresh eggs and bread and butter, a great coffee maker too. The water from the tap is delicious. She made it easy to find the entrance to the farm and our cottage even though we were bleary eyed and arriving at 2 AM The kitchens are very nice and functional. The bathrooms and showers are also comfortable and work well. She also has a hot tub and sauna. We were busy and didn't get to use them but wish we could have. Also, she has wonderful outdoor sitting areas all over the farm and offers her fresh produce for your dinner as well. The cottages are clean, nicely laid out and interesting. The farm, while small is a working farm with chickens and her new mini pigs among other residents. It isn't manicured like a golf course. There are lots of things going on at the farm and so it looks that way. And as a farm you need to remember to shut the gates! We loved our stay, convinced a friend to come the second week, and plan to return. We highly recommend it!

I am so glad I stayed here for one night, and something tells me I'll be back. I was expecting very rustic accommodations, because it's a farm. The cottages look rustic from the outside, but once inside, I was very pleasantly surprised. The place was immaculate, the kitchen fully equipped for meals (down to a spice rack), and the bed was very comfortable. But what truly made this place a great stay is the owner, Nancy. She let me hold a chicken! :) For me, her warm hospitality made this the preferable stay over a run-of-the-mill hotel. Plus, you are just 20 minutes or so away from Sonoma. Next time, I will bring a bathing suit for the sauna, a couple of DVDs, and some fresh veggies to make a meal.

This is a great place to stay if you want to switch from corporate lodging to a place you can call home. We travel often, so having the advantage to stay at a home away from home is a luxury. Upon arriving, you walk into a clean, modern apartment in a cottage. You have: a kitchen with all of the essentials; a bathroom with fresh towels; a living room with fireplace; Internet and Roku TV; and a bedroom with sheets that are fresh, colorful 600+ thread-count cotton accented with a duvet, cover and pillows. The hands-on “espresso” coffee (light, medium or dark) is essential for hard working days nights. Expect a delivery of fresh farm eggs and/or local produce -a nice surprise and complement to the bacon we planned to make for evening dinners. We stayed 2 nights and 3 days in this cottage, worked all day in the Sonoma Valley and returned every evening to the closest thing we can call home. This whole experience was supported by an efficient and secure booking system at CrashMyPad.

Nice accommodations. I hate hotels, preferring more of a residence feel, and this cottage was so homey and nice. The garden is right outfront and its fun to be on a farm. Location about 15-20 mins from Golden Gate Bridge San Francisco, there are hiking trails within walking distance, Nancy is a gracious host. What more can I ask for? Already planning our next stay.

We held a 5 day, 3-generation family reunion at this location between Christmas and New Year's day, utilizating 2 of the units. Nancy, the owner, was in contact with us before we arrived and had the units warmed and ready provided us with all the details necessary for our comfort including fresh eggs from the farm in the fridge. She was helpful throughout the visit giving us a tour of all the facilities and the unique features offered in addition to the accommodations. The units have comfortable beds, a distinct Asian theme and are actually small libraries containing hundreds of old and new books plus a hot tub (which got lots of use by the younger generation) and a sauna. The small farm is in Indian Valley, a very pretty area of mostly small horse ranches and oak trees in the south part of Novato. The town center is composed of several blocks of 2-story buildings consisiting of small businesses/stores and ample eating places with the usual big box national entities on the periphery and outskirts. We made ample use of the beautiful surrounding areas with spectacular drives to the Point Reyes National Park and lighthouse and through the Sonoma Valley wine country. A bonus is the closeness to San Francisco for easy day trips. The WiFi still needs some work as reception was spotty, most likely due to the valley location. No regular TV service but ample CD's for movies. Nancy is still working on this. For multiple family or friends' gatherings, this destination is a unique, comfortable and memorable experience.

I cannot emphasize enough just how true the owner's comment were that the unit is much bigger than it looks in the pictures. We expected minimal 2-bedroom accommodation and instead found a well-furnished, decent-sized house. Things that were potential downers: the property is very much a work in progress. If you're expecting an agro-tourism resort, well, this is not what you'll get. There are chickens, soft-fruit trees, vegetables, and some B&B amenities such as a spa. The driveway is gravel and you need to follow standard farmer's gate protocol: if it's open, leave it open, if it's shut, then shut it after you. And some parts of the property are still being worked on, though the work is not disruptive. I enjoyed the crowing of nearby roosters and the cries of peacocks. That might not be to everyone's liking. There were fresh eggs, fruit and vegetables in the fridge when we arrived. The owner is on the premises and is quite friendly and accommodating (We found that we had a lot in common). The books on the shelves are actually ones that I wanted to read, not some random selection of cast-offs or airport novels. In my opinion, this was unexpectedly good Marin accommodation for the price, and we would not hesitate to stay here again when the opportunity arises.

My family and I came from Boston, Tampa, and Durango, Co for a wedding and a family reunion in Novato. We were NOT wanting to do the typical hotel for this special time. We found the Farm and Nancy and were thrilled with everything! Her home is impeccable, unique, and very comfortable. The grounds are wonderful with organic veggies and beautiful flowers everywhere. Farm fresh eggs were available to us for breakfast. We really enjoyed meeting the potbelly pigs, so cute! Thank you to Nancy and her staff for providing this house. It made our time together special, stress-free and fun!

5+++ The place is great. We stayed for a month. Very comfortable, fully equipped with everything including board games, puzzles, books, and plenty of extra quilts for cool nights (we were there in February). Ask for a soup pot and Nancy brings you one right away! Nancy is friendly and interesting and I really enjoyed talking to her. She easily accommodated my friend's need for medical equipment (oxygen). Ron was available instantly for a blown fuse. Chickens and pigs and cats are great. It was just the kind of quiet place that suits me. Will definitely go back.

Michael was a considerate and happy guest. He was waiting for escrow to close on a new house, and he needed a break from the drama of packing, moving, etc., so he wisely used the farm as a quiet place to collect himself. He was very pleasant to share the property with for a couple of weeks!
