About This Property

Unit A: 1 Bedroom + Bath w/tub Living room overlooks the 'Picket Garden' where the veggies are grown next to an artistic flagstone patio with shady gazebo in which to lounge out of the direct sun. Bedroom has full-sized bed and looks out into the orchard in back and has TV/DVD in wardrobe. Living room has leather sectional to sleep 1. Brand new kitchen has double farm sink, gas range & full fridge - hardwood floors with gas stove/fireplace to keep you cozy. Large bathroom has tub/shower and overlooks a secluded alcove. Private parking & entry, laundry, access to infrared sauna and hot tub/cold plunge. Well-behaved children/pets welcome.

Just a note: this is a farm and has some rustic aspects, such as limited cell phone reception, no cable TV, a gravel driveway with gates on wheels, screaming peacocks in the hills at dusk and dawn, and a fairly large compost operation onsite. On the up side, it is quiet and peaceful with abundant home grown produce and fresh eggs.

This is a great place to stay if you want to switch from corporate lodging to a place you can call home. We travel often, so having the advantage to stay at a home away from home is a luxury. Upon arriving, you walk into a clean, modern apartment in a cottage. You have: a kitchen with all of the essentials; a bathroom with fresh towels; a living room with fireplace; Internet and Roku TV; and a bedroom with sheets that are fresh, colorful 600+ thread-count cotton accented with a duvet, cover and pillows. The hands-on “espresso” coffee (light, medium or dark) is essential for hard working days nights. Expect a delivery of fresh farm eggs and/or local produce -a nice surprise and complement to the bacon we planned to make for evening dinners. We stayed 2 nights and 3 days in this cottage, worked all day in the Sonoma Valley and returned every evening to the closest thing we can call home. This whole experience was supported by an efficient and secure booking system at CrashMyPad.

I rented this cottage for my 80-year old parents who came from the Netherlands for three weeks because it was close enough to where I live that they could walk over for breakfast. Instead, I spent more time with them at the farm because they enjoyed so much the natural setting and the sunny gardens. The vegetable garden was full of things to pick and eat, and of course the fresh eggs! My parents are great hikers and nature lovers, so they could sit for hours overlooking the orchard commenting on the birds and butterflies. It was the perfect stay for them, for us so much better than trying to crowd them on a futon in the living room of my small apartment. Also, it was so close to great hikes in West Marin and Sonoma. Most of all, knowing they were safe and comfortable (and that someone was looking after them a bit) made me more relaxed to truly enjoy their long visit.
